Some people abseil their way to ‘better teamwork’, but we prefer to explore differing personalities and use relevant work-based examples to build high performing teams.
From poorly motivated teams where conflict needs resolving to great teams that need an extra push for a new project, we can bring a fresh approach, No two teams are the same - each solution is tailor made for the individual client
Case study:
North London Primary Care Trust
A team of nurses working in the community were perceived as divided and performing poorly. Sorbus were approached as a ‘last resort’ “We have tried everything”. The team were equally fed up with being treated as needing help and were naturally cynical about any ‘last resort’ intervention so the approach needed to be engaging, open and sincere.
A team workshop established the personality profiles of the team and the senior management also had their profiles done. This was followed by one to one coaching sessions with everyone to uncover issues and conflicts. Fundamentally there was nothing wrong with the team – the opposite in fact – they were dedicated, professional and hard working. The communication between them and the senior team had broken down partly because of perceived differences in priorities and very different preferred styles of communication.
The team then went through 3 strategy sessions involving an independent health professional to challenge and guide the debate. The team was in the words of the Senior Manager ‘transformed – unrecognisable’.
